Cisco Data type (Classification)

1.       Cisco Public

a.       Non-sensitive data . ex)Cisco press releases and marketing materials

 

2.       Cisco Confidential

a.       Private or proprietary information that is protected from disclosure to the public domain. Ex) internal memos, meeting minutes… etc

3.       Cisco Highly Confidential

a.       Highly sensitive information that is critical to Cisco operations. Ex) Customer data, employee compensation information, business plans.. etc

4.       Cisco Restricted

a.       Most sensitive type of data and access is tightly controlled and has the highest level of protection. Ex) product design documents, new product road-maps, financial data.. etc

 

Demonstrates that we know the value of the data we are using and have standards around how to use it

 

5 Cisco data Lifecycle

1.       Create

a.       Categorize and classify the data

2.       Use

a.       Ensure the appropriate use and processing of data based on legitimate needs and purposes

3.       Share

a.       Ensure the data is shared and handled appropriately, even as different tools are used

4.       Store

a.       Manage company records properly and retain data only as long as necessary to serve its business purpose or as required by law.

5.       Destroy
